"Currently, the industry has entered a contraction phase more or less from the onset of Covid-19 until now. We observe a decrease in demand, limitations on bank loans, and consequently a slowdown in growth. This is due to the significant role banks used to play in driving growth. They were also part of the economy due to the austerity measures. Similar situations are happening globally, with interest rates being capped.

After a period of significant saturation worldwide, a phase of deceleration has begun. I believe this trend will continue until the new year. Following the new year, I am confident that we will transition back to a growth phase.

"Right now, the most crucial thing to do is to 'cut your coat according to your cloth,' so to speak, without taking on excessive debt. In other words, it's necessary to downsize a bit without getting heavily burdened with debt. The country continues to import at full speed. The foreign exchange deficit is a significant concern for the nation. Imports are much higher than exports, and no matter how much exports increase, imports rise by the same proportion.

I anticipate that after a bit more contraction, there will be a brighter future ahead. This term 'semi-finished goods' used in imports is undoubtedly also used in exports. However, I believe a significant portion remains here.

After a considerably active two years in the diamond sector, due to a slight contraction in the American economy, demand has decreased. This decrease in demand negatively affects diamonds. There is a contraction in smaller stones, and a decline has also begun in larger stones. The largest buyer has reduced their purchases, leading to this contraction.

Currently, CVD [Chemical Vapor Deposition] has entered the market at full speed. Just as atoms entered our world 50 years ago, there is a certain market for zircon stones. Zircon was being produced without a laboratory environment."

It was the first-ever international jewelry fair in Uzbekistan, and we were pleased with the positive results as it marked our first experience in this specialized field.

Despite the tight preparation period of just 4.5 months, the outcomes exceeded all expectations. We had some of the best jewelry manufacturers and jewelry equipment suppliers from Austria, Italy, India, Georgia, Turkey, UAE, Russia, and other countries among our international participants.

Additionally, we had potential buyers not only from Uzbekistan but also from other CIS countries like Turkey and India, who attended the event through the Hosted Buyer program.

I want to emphasize the satisfaction of our participants regarding their expectations. We received highly positive feedback, and they expressed their contentment with the organization and impact of the event.

Foreign participants mentioned that although they have attended numerous fairs worldwide, they were most impressed by the organization in Uzbekistan. They conveyed their willingness to participate in our future events and even expressed interest in attending multiple times a year.

I was born in Konya in 1949. I came Grand Bazaar as apprentice in 1965. when I returned from army, three shareholder offers were offered to me. My love of job and working faster than the other workers were effective. These offers without money expectations, were honoured me so much. Today we run our business with shareholders we found in those years. We have retailer sale to Anatolian and Thrace in our company on manifacturing and sale.”

The fair was more dense in the first day but today it is a bit quiet, anyway our works are so good.

It is our first fair in the name of Doliche but we are always in the fair areas.

We are here till Sunday, for 4 days. It has started on Thursday and will go on till Sunday.
 
Is the immensity of customers from Anatolia or are there foreign customers?
I think there is a good participation this year. We have many participants coming from everywhere whether inside Istanbul or inside our country, or from abroad. The participation is exremely good.

		    <content:encoded><![CDATA[Istanbul International Jewellery, Watch and Materials Fair "ISTANBUL JEWELLERY SHOW OCTOBER 2012” carried out with a great success between 4- 7 October 2012 in İstanbul Fair Centre by UBM Rotaforte. The fair that is named as the meeting platform of jewellery industry, brought together the prominents of the sector with more than 10.000 new and different products in 22.000 square meters for the 35. times is the most important trade bridge of Europe and Middle East. We present the short interview given by Nusret Altınbaş one of the leading names of of the sector and the member of Altınbaş Holding Company Board Management and The Board Chair of Jewellery.

 
Up till now how is the fair going on. Can we learn your ideas?
The fair is extremely good. It is a successful work. Whether fair organisation or companies have worked so good. We are pleased with the fair up till now.
 
Comparing the previous fairs with the current fairs, how is the progress of the current one?
I see more presentable and well- organised prior to the fair. Everybody is focused on their work and knows their business. I hope we will specialize more. We and our artisan friends will improve our business more.

As company, what sort of plans do you have fort the future?
To concentrate on our goal, to define the goal clearly, to make progress towards our goal.
 
As you are one of the few companies of Turkey, could you explain briefly the economic situation throughout Turkey recently?
 
As we are from the sector, perhaps the evaluation Turkey may be a bit different. But we are so good as a sector. Either our works are excellent as company or I perceive that everybody is focused on their professions and open to new ideas, knows what will they do, produces new designs and takes orders in the form of sector.
