1. As a designer who has achieved first place in Turkey, what emotions and observations shaped the birth of the “Urla Collection”?

Evren Şengüler:
For me, design is not merely an aesthetic production; it is a way of making a geography’s spirit, memory, and story visible. After moving to Urla, I deeply felt the presence of a living history here. The impressions, emotions, and inspirations that accumulated in my mind over the years finally found their way to my design desk. Reinterpreting Urla’s cultural heritage in the form of jewelry was a natural and almost inevitable process for me.

2. How did your path cross with Tuncay Erdem, and on what common ground did this collaboration develop?

Evren Şengüler:
Tuncay Erdem is a strong brand with deep knowledge of the region’s cultural memory and years of experience. When I first shared the idea of the collection with him, he responded with the same excitement.

This collaboration was not merely a business partnership; it became a shared production born from respect for the same land and a desire to preserve its heritage. That is why the process was so fluid, harmonious, and inspiring.



3. What were the main sources of inspiration during the creation of the collection?

Evren Şengüler:
I spent months in museums, studied archaeological research, and traced ancient symbols. Conversations with Urla’s oldest residents revealed many details that had never been recorded.

This research process gave the collection both a strong historical foundation and a unique soul.

When you look at the pieces, you can feel both the past and the present at the same time — and that’s exactly why.

4. The fact that your designs were accepted without any revisions is rare in the industry. How did this make you feel?

Evren Şengüler:
This is truly valuable to me. Trust in a designer’s line is directly related to respect  for the essence of that work. The fact that Tuncay Erdem and his team embraced my designs in their original form doubled the collection’s energy and creative strength.

It felt like a strong, unspoken agreement: “We are telling Urla’s story correctly.”

5. Do you believe the Urla Collection will also make an impact internationally?

Evren Şengüler:
Absolutely. The strong interest the collection attracted from the very beginning has shown that our culture has a universal language.

Urla’s story is not merely local; it has a depth that can resonate globally when communicated properly.

That is why I strongly believe the collection will find its place on international stages.

		   <content:encoded><![CDATA[My name is Fehmi Gerçeker  I am from İstanbul, but I have been in New York City long time.
I studied and I got master’s degree  in television and cinema in New York  City University, after that I started to do some film productions in United States and I have been produced ad directed30 25 around   documentary films.  These are mostly international  films and I shot those almost in 29 countries at the World .
Recently I have been in İstanbul and I am producing  some documentary films for American and European distribution .
I was in Moroco abaout 6 months ago and I was very surprised  that I didn’t know that much about Morocco. I love the country and I stayed there enough time to understand some of the beauties over there, and I was very interested with a city Essaouira. It is on the shore of Atlantic Ocean.  I learned  that Orson Wells  shot the film of Othello over there. Also many very famous international wellknown artists, and musicians love the city.. They loved that area.
So I decided to do a  documentary film about that town.  I started to do some research on that city. As you know, in our documentary World, the most important part of the production is pre-production to do research and understand what we are presenting in our film.
I started to research on that area with my production team.  I contacted with Consulate of Istanbul of Royal Monaco and also I met with a very important businessman who is the director of Maracon and Turkey Business Association. We are planning to do the first shooting in the beginning of August in Morocco, then we will be planning to shoot the film the end of this year maybe October or September,
Culture wise there are similarities between Morocco and Turkey.  Morocco has tramendous culture and historical background It's the same for Turkey.
Turkey and Morocco several times got together in the history. Both of them are the bridge of many countries. As we know Ottoman Empire bridge of Europe and Asia in many years. Morocco has the same situation it is the bridge of The New World and  Europe, We try to bring out these historical values of  in our film.

		   <content:encoded><![CDATA[A documentary film is being produced about Essaouira, one of Morocco’s cities located on the Atlantic Ocean and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historical and natural beauty.

Renowned producer-director Fehmi Gerçeker, known for his international documentaries, has begun work on an English-language film about Essaouira that will be distributed worldwide.


Following the English version, the film will also be released in Arabic, French, Spanish, and Turkish. The world premiere of the documentary will take place in Essaouira. Afterwards, special screenings will be held in Rabat, Marrakech, Casablanca, Istanbul, Paris, Berlin, and New York, before the film is distributed to international television networks.

Pre-production work for the documentary is currently underway. Preliminary filming is scheduled for July and will feature exclusive footage with internationally acclaimed subject-matter experts, offering viewers an in-depth introduction to Essaouira.

Principal photography will begin in September and will take place in the Kingdom of Morocco and France.

The production of the Essaouira documentary is being carried out in collaboration with the Moroccan and African Industrialists and Businessmen Association (FASTIAD).
